MOUNT PLEASANT -- The stretch run begins for the Central Michigan men's basketbal team on Sunday when the Chippewas host the Toledo Rockets to start the second trip through the West Division as Mid-American Conference regular season action begins to wind down.
CMU is locked in a battle with Ball State for first place in the West Division, tied with the Cardinals at 6-5 in MAC action. Central Michigan beat Toledo earlier this season, 59-48, at Savage Arena.
There will be live stats available, as well as a live audio stream of 95.3 WCFX-FM's local broadcast, to all fans. Live video of the contest will also be available to CMU Sports Zone subscribers.
All-Time Series -- Ball State owns a 53-30 edge in the all-time series, dating back to 1947, including a 37-6 edge in Muncie. The Chippewas are 4-3 against the Cardinals under head coach Ernie Zeigler.
Keys to the Game -- Today’s contest features two of the top four defensive teams during MAC play in points allowed, although BSU is holding MAC teams to just 39 percent from the field, compared to CMU’s 42 percent (t-5th). The game also features the top two three-point shooting teams in the league, and both teams rank in the top three in three-point defense.
Three-Point King -- Robbie Harman became the first player in CMU history to connect on 200 or more career three-pointers with a career-best nine against Ohio. Harman's nine threes in the game were the 10th-best mark in the country, and he's now just 12 threes short of breaking the Chippewas' single-season record of 93 set by Tommie Johnson in 1987-88.
1,000 Point Club -- Jordan Bitzer became the 26th player in Central Michigan history to score 1,000 career points with 20 against Akron earlier this year. He now sits 22nd all-time on CMU's career scoring chart.
