Trey Zeigler reached a new career high by the 13:46 mark in the second half, when a three-pointer gave him his 25th point of the game.
The Chippewas' 48.1 field goal percentage (26-of-54) was the highest of the season and marked the first time in eight game they shot over 40 percent. They hit an even 50 percent in the second half.
CMU's 16 assists matched the season's best, originally accomplished at South Alabama November 20.
Amir Rashid tallied seven assists, notching a season high and match his career best, and turned the ball over just three times.
Jalin Thomas (10 points) and Zeigler (17) combined for 27 of the Chippewas' 36 first-half points.
Zeigler's 16.7 points per game rank fourth among all MAC players; he is the only freshman among the league's top 25 scorers.
Through two games, Zeigler leads the league in conference-only scoring (26.0 ppg).
