The Chippewas came out of the locker room on fire, scoring on their first five possessions to extend their lead to 14, the largest of the game.
Central shot 56 percent from the floor in the first half and ended the night at an even 50 percent, putting together their best shooting night of the season. They hit their first eight three-point attempts and went 9-for-13 (.692) overall from behind the arc, recording the highest three-point field goal percentage since 2002 (.706 (12-0f-17) vs. Marshall on Jan. 16).
John Morris earned his first career start and played a career-high 15 minutes.
Colin Voss scored a personal-best 10 points on 3-of-4 shooting and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the line.
CMU's 13 assists were the most since Nov. 20 when they collected 16 in the fourth game of the season. Trey Zeigler 's five assists matched a career-high set in the season opener. He recorded zero turnovers in 39 minutes.
All but four of Jalin Thomas ' 22 points came in the second half.
Three true freshmen – Trey Zeigler (24), Derek Jackson (14) and Colin Voss (10) – combined for 48 points, accounting for more than half of the team's scoring.
Ohio sophomore D.J. Cooper was held to just four points in the first half. The preseason MAC Player of the Year scored 14 of the team's final 21 points over the last 3:30.
Finish Craddock, one of five Chippewas in double figures, notched 10 points by the 3:00 mark in the first half. The last time five Chippewas scored at least 10 points was Nov. 16, 2009 against Ferris State.
The Chippewas went 11-for-12 from the line in the final 1:30 to hold off a comeback attempt by the Bobcats, who had come within seven and got as close as four down the stretch.
