Rosters, Rotation Set for Annual Fall World Series

MOUNT PLEASANT - The Central Michigan baseball program has announced the rosters for its annual Fall World Series, set to begin next Friday, Oct. 7 at 3:30 p.m.
The "Gold" squad will feature four seniors and juniors, two sophomores and seven freshmen. The Chippewas' leading run producer from a season ago, William Arnold, will highlight the team, which also features 2011 All-MAC selection Jordan Dean and 2011 Cape Cod League All-Star, pitcher Dietrich Enns.
The "Maroon" squad will be comprised of five members from each of the senior, junior and freshman classes and one sophomore. Senior pitcher Zach Cooper, an All-MAC selection a season ago and draft pick of the Florida Marlins, will lead a veteran pitching staff that also features senior Rick Dodridge and junior Ryan Longstreth. The Maroon and Gold's 2011 most valuable player, Tyler Hall, will look to spark the Maroon offense.
Both teams have also named their starting pitchers for the opening weekend, with freshman Sean Renzi getting the start in game one for the Gold squad versus the Maroon's Longstreth. Jon Weaver will start for the Gold in game two versus Cooper and Matt Trowbridge will get the game three start for the Gold versus redshirt freshman Dylan Rheault of the Maroon.
The Chippewas will play seven games regardless of result during the annual Fall World Series. Game one will be played over seven innings, game two over nine and game three seven or nine, based on pitchers availability. All games are held at Theunissen Stadium, free and open to the public.
