ATLANTA, Ga. - Central Michigan senior Crystal Bradford was named to the Naismith Trophy Women's 50 Watch List.
The Naismith Trophy recognizes the best player in college basketball.
Bradford, the reigning Mid-American Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, leads CMU in scoring (17.3 points per game), rebounding (10.3), assists (3.8) and steals (2.5).
She is the second player in CMU history to be named to the list. Britni Houghton, in 2008-09, was the first. Bradford is the first player from a MAC school to earn the honor since Toledo's Naama Shafir in 2012-13, and just the fifth in league history.
Bradford was named three weeks ago to the 25-member Wade Trophy Watch List. The Wade Trophy is recognized as the Heisman Trophy of women's college basketball.
Bradford, who hails from Detroit, entered the 2014-15 season second in CMU history in points (1,574), field goals (636), and blocked shots (255). She ranked fourth in steals (223) and rebounds (950).
Bradford and the Chippewas (3-2) play a non-conference game at Dayton on Saturday.
