
McIntyre Earns Scholar-Athlete Award

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan volleyball player Kaitlyn McIntyre earned the Mid-American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week Award for Sept. 15-22.
McIntyre, a senior outside hitter, carries a 3.9 grade point average in exercise science. She earned tournament most valuable player honors in leading the Chippewas to the championship of the Cincinnati Invitational. She hit .302 as CMU finished 3-0, extending their win streak to four.
McIntyre totaled 43 kills (3.91 per set) in the tournament, including a high of 16 in a 3-1 win over Tennessee State. She also finished the three matched with 32 digs, six service aces, and five blocks (two solos).
The Chippewas, who have won five of their last six matches, are 5-7 and play host to Eastern Michigan in their MAC opener on Thursday, Sept. 25.
