MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The intensity takes a step up for the Central Michigan cross country teams Saturday when they run in the NCAA Pre National Meet at Louisville.
The meet features several of the tops teams in the nation and will be run on the course at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park, which is the course on which the NCAA Championships are scheduled for Nov. 21.
The Pre National signals the start of the most meaningful part of the Chippewas' schedule. In two weeks, they will compete in the Mid-American Conference Championships.
"I'd like to see where we're at competitively," CMU coach Matt Kaczor said. "On the men's side we'll have every single guy in uniform. It's a dress rehearsal to see where we're at before the conference championships.
"Now we're getting the pieces of the puzzle connected and we've just got to keep training for these next several weeks and get ready for the conference and the regionals and see where that takes us."
