MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan lacrosse coach Sara Tisdale announced Wednesday that she has signed 13 student-athletes who will join the Chippewas for their inaugural season in 2016.
"I am thrilled to welcome 13 excellent student-athletes to the CMU lacrosse program," said Tisdale, who was named the program's inaugural coach 16 months ago.
Tisdale's first recruiting class comprised 26 players. The geographically diverse roster now comprises players representing 17 states and one Canadian province.
"Our second class represents a commitment to excellence in the classroom and in the field," Tisdale said. "Student athletes in our second signed class are coming to CMU from coast to coast -- Oregon to Maryland -- and a two of the most elite players in the state of Michigan staying instate to build CMU lacrosse into a championship-caliber program."
The Chippewas will play their first game on Feb. 7 at Michigan. Their home opener - in the brand new CMU Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium - is scheduled for March 11 against Delaware State.
CMU will compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference along with Detroit, Furman, Howard, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Mercer, Old Dominion and Stetson.
