Olson Resigns as Volleyball Head Coach

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan Athletics announced today that volleyball head coach Erik Olson has resigned effective Dec. 31, 2015.
"I look forward to filling our head coaching position with an individual who will create a positive culture and lead us to consistent success on and off the court," Director of Athletics Dave Heeke said. "We will begin a national search immediately to find our next coach. This is an opportunity for the right person to build a highly competitive program in the Mid-American Conference."
Olson coached at Central Michigan for 12 seasons, compiling a record of 161-183. He has been on a paid leave of absence since Oct. 6 and has voluntarily resigned. Further details of this personnel matter will not be released.
