Six Chippewas on Phil Steele's All-MAC Teams

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Six members of the Central Michigan football team were named to Phil Steele's 2015 Postseason All-Mid-American Conference team.
Center Nick Beamish and tight end Ben McCord were named to the First Team Offense, while defensive end Blake Serpa and safety Kavon Frazier were named to the First Team Defense.
Tackle Ramadan Ahmeti was named to the Second Team Offense, and quarterback Cooper Rush earned a spot on the Third Team Offense.
The Chippewas (7-5) earned a share of the MAC West Division title with a 6-2 league record. They are scheduled to play Minnesota (5-7) in the Quick Lane Bowl at Ford Field in Detroit on Dec. 28.
Beamish has started every game (50) since he arrived on campus as a freshman, and was named to the Rimington Trophy Fall Watch List in each of the past two seasons.
McCord, a senior from Warren, has 37 receptions for 570 yards on the season. He shares the team lead with five touchdown receptions and averages 15.4 yards per catch. His 570 yards ranks ninth nationally among all tight ends.
Frazier, a senior from Grand Rapids, leads the Chippewas and ranks ninth in the MAC with 103 tackles. His 69 solo tackles rank second in the league. He has made 4.5 tackles-for-a-loss, recorded one interception and four pass breakups, forced two fumbles, recovered one, and blocked a punt.
Serpa, a senior from Sugar Grove, Ill., has recorded 35 tackles including 23 unassisted. He leads the Chippewas with 9.5 tackles-for-a-loss including a team-high three sacks.
Ahmeti, who hails from Lansing, is a 6-7, 294-pound senior who battled injuries but still drew nine starts at left tackle.
Rush, a junior from Charlotte, has thrown for a CMU-record 3,703 yards this season, and ranks second in the MAC in that category. He has completed 67.2 percent of his passes, which also ranks second in the league, and has tossed 25 touchdown passes.
Rush ranks sixth nationally with an average of 25.75 pass completions per game, 10th in passing yardage, and 11th in passing yards per game (308.6).
