Wrestlers Hand Out Post-Season Awards

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Zach Horan received the Chick Sherwood Most Valuable Wrestler Award Sunday at the annual Central Michigan University wrestling program banquet.
Horan, a junior who wrestles at 141 pounds, finished 21-6 on the season, won the Mid-American Conference championship and competed in the NCAA Championships for the third time in his career.
Horan also earned the award for most takedowns on the season.
Other individual awards went to Justin Oliver, Redshirt Freshman of the Year; Carter Ballinger, Most Falls; Brent Fleetwood, Most Near Falls; Jordan Ellingwood, Most Improved; and Malcom Martin, Harry Richard Coaches Award.
