Chippewa Track & Field Heads to Indiana State

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.- This weekend, the Central Michigan men's and women's track & field teams will be sending their finest to compete in the Gibson Invitational in Terra Haute, Ind., hosted by Indiana State.
"It should be a good meet, it's a brand new facility," said Mark Guthrie, CMU director of track & field/cross country.
"This will be a good indicator of where we're at. Minus a couple of people who might be banged up, this group will probably be some of our better athletes."

On Thursday, Wendy Szuminski and Kyla Walton will represent the Chippewas when they compete in a heptathlon. It will begin at noon.
Field events will be held on Friday, beginning at 5 p.m.
Saturday at 11 a.m. will mark the start of the running events on the weekend.
CMU will join a field comprising Southeast Missouri, Northern Iowa, Saint Louis, Milwaukee, Indiana State and Detroit.
Terre Haute is predicted to be 70 degrees throughout the weekend, but a 70 percent chance of rain on Thursday.
