Five Chippewas on Academic All-MAC Team

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Five members of the Central Michigan men's basketball team were named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team.

No other school had more than two players named to the 18-member squad.

To qualify for the team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative 3.2 grade point average and participate in at least 50 percent of his team's contests.

Those Chippewas named to the team, with year and GPA: Chris Fowler, theatre arts, 3.42; Austin Stewart, sociology, 3.34; John Simons, accounting, 3.57; Blake Hibbitts, accounting, 3.77; Milos Cabarkapa, undecided, 3.30. It marks the second consecutive year that Fowler and Simons have been named to the squad.
