Chippewas Open 'Showcase' Against Weber State

ESTERO, Fla. -- The Central Michigan men's basketball team will open the Gulf Coast Showcase against Weber State at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23.
The Showcase, which is in its third year and is played at Germain Arena, features some of the top mid-major teams in the nation. Last season, Central Michigan finished 23-9 and won its first Mid-American Conference championship in more than a decade last season.
Weber State, which plays in the Big Sky Conference, finished 13-17 in 2014-15. Also in the tournament field are Murray State (29-6 last season), Milwaukee (14-16), Pepperdine (18-14), Duquesne (12-19), Western Kentucky (20-12) and Drake (9-22).
The CMU-Weber State winner will play either Drake or Western Kentucky at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24. The tournament concludes on Wednesday, Nov. 25. The title game is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The Chippewas are guaranteed to play three games in the event, which is organized by bd Global, a Lexington, Ky.-based sports marketing firm.
