
White Earns Weekly MAC Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan volleyball player Angie White was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week.
White, a 6-foot-2 senior middle blocker from Bloomfield Hills, Mich., finished with 28 kills in 45 attempts in helping lead the Chippewas to the championship of the Chippewa Challenge.
On Saturday, White had 14 kills in a win over San Jose State and followed with nine kills in a victory over Nebraska-Omaha. She recorded a season-high .684 hitting percentage in the win over the Spartans. The Chippewas swept both matches, 3-0.
She finished the tournament with an outstanding .533 hitting percentage and averaged 3.11 kills per set and earned a spot on the all-tournament team.
It is the second time that White has earned a player of the week honor from the MAC in her career.
The Chippewas (5-8) open Mid-American Conference play on Friday at Northern Illinois, then go to Western Michigan on Saturday.
