CMU's Ostman Earns MAC Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Joe Ostman was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week.
Ostman, a junior defensive end from St. Ignace, made eight tackles including two sacks in leading the Chippewas to a 27-20 victory over Ohio last Tuesday. He finished the game with three tackles-for-loss, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.
Ostman ranks third on the Chippewa roster with 59 total tackles, including 37 solos. He leads CMU in sacks (8), tackles-for-loss (12) and quarterback hurries (6). Ostman ranks third in the MAC in sacks.
The Chippewas (6-5) play their regular-season finale at Eastern Michigan (6-5) on Tuesday (7 p.m.).
