
CMU's Ostman Earns Academic Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Joe Ostman has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District Football Team.
Ostman, a junior defensive end from St. Ignace, is a marketing major who carries a 3.65 grade point average.
Central Michigan falls into District 5 (of eight total), which comprises student-athletes attending colleges and universities in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.
Ostman is CMU's third-leading tackler with 48 stops (32 solos). He leads the Chippewas with five sacks and four quarterback hurries. His eight tackles-for-loss rank second on the team, and his sack total ranks seventh in the Mid-American Conference.
Ostman is now eligible for Academic All-America recognition.
