
CMU's Wesley Earns MAC Honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan's Jayla Wesley has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week in volleyball.
Wesley, a 6-foot-1 sophomore middle blocker from West Bloomfield, finished with 25 kills in helping lead the Chippewas to a pair of five-set league victories over the weekend.
She had 14 kills on a .393 attack percentage in a win at Ball State on Friday, and then had 11 kills on a .524 attack percentage on Saturday in a victory at Toledo.
Wesley finished the weekend with a .449 attack percentage. She also had five blocks.
It marked CMU's first MAC weekend sweep of the season. The Chippewas are 13-11 overall, 5-7 MAC and entertain Northern Illinois and Western Michigan in a pair of conference matches this weekend.
