Chippewas Head South For 2 ASUN Games

• Central Michigan makes a trip to Florida for two Atlantic Sun Conference games this weekend. The Chippewas play at Stetson on Friday and at Jacksonville on Sunday (noon).
• Jacksonville is 6-4 overall, 3-0 ASUN and is in a three-way tie for the top spot in the league with Mercer and Coastal Carolina.
• Last weekend, the Chippewas dropped two ASUN games at home, the first to Coastal Carolina, 15-9; the second to Furman, 12-11.
• At 1-3 in league play, CMU is ninth in the 12-team ASUN.
• CMU is averaging 11.36 goals per game, which ranks fifth in the league. Jacksonville is second with 14.90, while Stetson is sixth with 11.30.
• Jacksonville is allowing 9.90 goals per game, which is third in the conference. The Chippewas are sixth (13.30), while Stetson is eighth (15.10).
• Stetson has won its last two games, both ASUN contests, after starting the season 0-8. The victories have come over Howard, 21-3; and over Delaware State, 24-0.
• Sophomore Jocelyne Lemay leads CMU in scoring with 30 goals, which is tied for third in the ASUN with Danielle Della Rocca of Jacksonville.
• Sam Maguire leads Stetson with 21 goals, which ties her for 16th in the league.
• The Chippewas' Riley Huda is second in the league with 25 assists and ranks fourth with 39 points.
• Among goalkeepers, Jacksonville's Sydney Matthews is second in the conference with a 49.1 save percentage, while the Chippewas' Dominique Hamman and Hope Murray rank fifth and sixth, respectively. Hamman's save percentage is 45.5, while Murray's is 44.0.
• This is the fifth year that the ASUN has sponsored women's lacrosse, and Jacksonville won the first three league tournaments, beating Detroit Mercy in the championships game on each occasion. Last season, Old Dominion knocked off the Dolphins in a tournament semifinal and went on to claim the championship.
• Jacksonville has never lost an ASUN regular-season game, going 27-0 through a 25-2 win last weekend over Howard. The Dolphins are scheduled to play host to Detroit Mercy on Friday.
• Next for CMU: The Chippewas play host to Old Dominion in an ASUN game on Thursday, April 13 (7 p.m.).
