MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Central Michigan lacrosse coach Sara Tisdale has announced the addition of two student-athletes to her 2017 recruiting class.
Miigwaans Smith and Sarah Farley will join the Chippewas for the 2018 season. The duo combines with four November signees - Rachel Bould of Pittsburgh, Hannah Potter of Noblesville, Ind., Maryn Hubiak of Reading, Pa., and Sarah Chase of Northville - to give CMU a class of six.
Smith is a Petoskey native whose athletic background includes time with the Northern Michigan-based Makwa Ziibi Lacrosse Club. She is a Petoskey High School graduate.
Farley hails from Newport Beach, Calif., where she was a standout at Newport Beach High School. She finished her senior year with 42 goals, 38 ground balls, nine interceptions, 34 caused turnovers and 60 draw controls.
"Sarah brings a wealth of talent, knowledge, and potential," third-year CMU coach Sara Tisdale said. "We fully expect her to have an immediate impact on the field. She's a strong student and we're excited for her to help us further our goals of excelling in the classroom and on the field.

"Miigwaans is newer to field lacrosse, but has a great knowledge of traditional Ojibwe lacrosse. Miigwaans is a strong athlete having played many sports. We look forward to working with Miigwaans and can't wait for her to teach us more about traditional Ojibwe lacrosse."
