SETTING THE SCENE
The Central Michigan volleyball team is scheduled to play two road Mid-American Conference matches this weekend. The Chippewas are slated to play at Western Michigan on Friday (7 p.m.) and at Northern Illinois on Saturday (8 p.m.).
LAST WEEK
CMU is 9-5, 1-1 MAC after splitting on their league-opening weekend. The Chippewas took a five-set victory over Toledo on Thursday, and then dropped a 3-0 decision against Ball State on Saturday.
STATISTICAL LEADERS
CMU senior Jordan Bueter leads the MAC in kills with 228, while freshman setter Grace Butler ranks third in assists per set with 10.53.
SCOUTING
Western Michigan is 9-4, 2-0 MAC after defeating Northern Illinois and Miami (Ohio), both in four sets, last weekend.
Quiana Ware leads the Broncos in kills with 164.
Northern Illinois is 1-16, 0-2 MAC. In addition to falling to Western Michigan on their league-opening weekend, the Huskies fell in five sets to Bowling Green.
Kaylee Martin has tallied 183 kills to lead NIU, which is the defending MAC Tournament champion.
NEXT
The Chippewas go to Eastern Michigan on Thursday, Oct. 5, then return to McGuirk Arena on Saturday, Oct. 7, to face Kent State.
