Two Chippewas Earn All-MAC Honors

Smith named to second team; Thompson earns all-freshman spot
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Kalina Smith and Savannah Thompson were named All-Mid-American Conference on Wednesday.
Smith, a sophomore outside hitter from Powell, Wyo., was named to the All-MAC Second Team, while Thompson earned a spot on the MAC All-Freshman Team. Both the second team and the all-freshman squad comprise six student-athletes.
Smith led the Chippewas with 328 kills and 348 points. Her 3.18 kills per set ranked seventh in the MAC.
Thompson, who hails from Thornton, Ill., led the Chippewas with 21 aces and ranked second on the team in kills (259) and digs (352).
