CMU senior guard one of 35 players named to Wade Watch List
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Presley Hudson was named to the Wade Watch List, which was released on Thursday.
Hudson, a senior guard from Wayland, is one of 35 players nationwide on the prestigious list and one of just two from a Mid-American Conference school. Cierra Dillard of Buffalo is the other.
The award is named for the late Lily Margaret Wade, the legendary coach who led Delta State to three consecutive national championships in the mid 1970s.
The award is presented by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and goes to the nation's top player. Student-athletes on the Wade Watch List are selected by the association's All-America Selection Committee.
Hudson is a two-time First Team All-MAC selection who last year helped lead the Chippewas to MAC regular-season and tournament championships and the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament.
She enters Wednesday's home game (5 p.m.) with UCF third on CMU's all-time scoring list with 1,720 career points.
On Tuesday, Hudson was named the MAC West Player of the Week for the seventh time in her career. She became the Chippewas' career leader in 3-point shooting and assists last week.
