Dunn, Naughton Selected As PNC Achievers

Throughout the 2018-19 season, deserving Chippewa student-athletes will be recognized for displaying well-rounded achievement
Central Michigan Athletics and PNC Bank are partnering to recognize the PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Month. Throughout the 2018-19 season, deserving Chippewa student-athletes will be recognized for displaying well-rounded achievement through leadership in the classroom, in the community, and in their athletic endeavors.
The honorees for November are sophomore Conor Naughton of the CMU men's cross country and track & field teams, and sophomore Marissa Dunn of the women's track & field teams

Dunn, who hails from Novi, carries a 3.88 grade point average and is majoring in recreation with a minor in leadership. She earned All-Mid-American Conference honors at the league outdoor championships last spring, and is a member of the Academic All-MAC squad. Outside of the athletic arena, Dunn serves as a leader of both Young Life and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, she is the vice president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and participates as a mentor for student-athletes in the First Year Experience. She also works in the Athletics Communications Department as a photographer.

Naughton is a sport management major with a journalism minor who carries a 3.60 grade point average. He has twice placed fourth in Mid-American Conference Championship meets – the first time in the 5K in the 2018 Indoor Championships, and the second time in the 10K at the 2018 Outdoor Championships. Naughton has earned Academic All-MAC honors in both cross country and in track & field.
