Quarterback comes to CMU from Garden City Community College
Central Michigan Football announced the signing of David Moore from Garden City Community College today.
Â
Moore is a 6-2, 200-pound quarterback who will be a junior next season for the Chippewas. He is immediately eligible.
Â
"David is a very cerebral quarterback who can make plays with his arms or his legs," head coach Jim McElwain said. "He's someone that has great feel for the game and a knack for making plays. While he has the ability to scramble, he's very comfortable in the pocket and has impressive arm talent that allows him to make every throw."
Â
Moore earned first team all-conference honors this season as he led his squad to the NJCAA national title game and a 10-1 record. He threw for 837 yards on 71-of-122 passing and four touchdowns this past season. Moore also had five rushing touchdowns.
Â
The Alpharetta, Georgia native spent the 2016-17 seasons at Memphis, playing in five games for the Tigers in 2017. Moore had 63 yards on 7-of-10 passing with one TD that year and also rushed for 47 yards on eight carries. He played his high school ball at Milton High School, tallying 39 touchdowns his final season.
