Danna Earns All-American Nod

Chippewa defensive end selected to prestigous squad by Pro Football Focus
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan defensive end Mike Danna has been named to the 2018 Pro Football Focus All-American First Team.
Danna, a junior from Warren, led the Chippewas with 9.5 sacks this season and ranked third on the team with 66 total tackles. His 15 tackles-for-loss led the Chippewas. He is tied for 13th nationally in sacks and ranks 36th in tackles-for-loss.
Danna, one of four Chippewas named to the All-Mid-American Conference First Team on defense, was a leader on a unit that ranked fourth in total defense and first against the pass among the 12 teams in the league. CMU ranked fourth nationally in passing yards allowed.
Danna is the lone student-athlete from a MAC school to earn a spot on the 23-member PFF All-American First Team. NIU's Sutton Smith was named to the second team.
Danna is the first Chippewa ever selected by PFF to its All-American team.
