The Central Michigan lacrosse team hits the field for the second time this season this weekend when it travels first to Washington, D.C. to take on American and then to Philadelphia to play LaSalle.
CMU, which opened the season with a 19-7 loss last weekend at Marquette, will play American in Washington, D.C. on Friday (3 p.m.) and then will take on LaSalle on Sunday (noon) in Philadelphia.
It is the first meeting between the Chippewas and either American or LaSalle. The Eagles opened the season last weekend with a 13-6 loss to Richmond; the Explorers are 0-2 after opening the season with an 8-6 loss to Fresno State and a 16-13 loss to Delaware.
THE LEADERS

HOME AGAIN
Six student-athletes on the 29-player CMU roster are playing de facto home games this weekend as Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia are within close proximity to their respective home towns. Those players, and their home towns: Jessica Schuchardt, Westminster, Md.; Maryn Hubiak, Reading, Pa.; Rachel Bould, Pittsburgh; Shannon Doyle, Mars, Pa.; Natalie Karlen, Hagerstown, Md.; and Emma Hamilton, Severna Park, Md.
"Being able to go back to East Coast and get back to where they grew up, where they learned to play and love this game, hopefully they bring that level of heart and love to the field," CMU coach Sara Tisdale said.

BOUNCING BACK
Tisdale: "My hope is that we put some fight in the dog. If we compete for 60 minutes I think we'll like the outcome. Some factors we allowed to get in our heads at Marquette (hopefully) don't resurface and we need to be mentally stronger."
