COACH Sara Tisdale:
"When we went back and watched film against Michigan, there were encouraging signs that we were able to execute our offense. Our defense stuck to the scout (report) and now it's a matter of stringing those together and cleaning up our transition game. So, I think for this weekend our focus is making sure that we get the defensive stops to translate into offensive points by making sure we are taking care of the ball in the middle of that field.
"Duquesne and Saint Francis are both solid opponents and will test us, but I think if we compete in a 60-minute fashion and play the full game that we'll like the result at the end of the day. The Michigan test was important because they had just come off of playing (No. 1-ranked) Stony Brook, and you have (Michigan) playing probably some of their best lacrosse and in the second half, it was a 5-4 game.
"For us, it's about taking care of the ball in transition and making sure we get off to a solid start. It doesn't even need to be a flashy start. I think we're a team that takes a little while to warm up, which is fine. It just needs to be a solid start. We need to put the ball in the back of the net. We need to start feeling the waves of momentum coming our way and then I like our chances 15-20 minutes into the game. We're pretty famous for digging ourselves a hole a little bit and trying to dig ourselves out of it. We've shown we can do that. It's not the most efficient way to win a game."
