SETTING THE SCENE
The Central Michigan lacrosse team will play its final two home games of the season this weekend. The Chippews will play Howard in a nonconference matchup on Friday (3:30 p.m.) and entertain Southern Conference foe Delaware State on Sunday (noon) at the CMU Lacrosse Stadium.
WHERE THEY STAND
CMU is 5-5, 1-0 SoCon after dropping a 14-11 nonconference decision to Kennesaw State last Saturday.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Central Michigan's Anna Schoonover was named the SoCon Offensive Player of the Week after recording 10 points (seven goals, three assists) in the Chippewas' two games last week, a 15-13 league win over Mercer and the loss to Kennesaw State.
THE LEADERS
Emma Hamilton and Schoonover share the team lead in goals with 20 apiece. Hamilton has also recorded 10 assists to lead the Chippewas with 30 points. Jessica Schuchardt leads CMU in assists with 15.
Dominque Hamman and Hope Murray have split time in goal for Central Michigan. Hamman has made 58 saves in 346-plus minutes in the cage while Murray has made 29 saves in 233-plus minutes.
SCOUTING
Howard (1-5) has lost its last four games. Natia Warren leads the Bison with 22 goals. Goalkeeper Amerra Sheckles has made 68 saves.
Delaware State is 0-7 after falling to Old Dominion, 21-2, on March 29. As a team, the Hornets average 3.5 goals per game. Lauren Perry leads Delaware State in points with 10 (eight goals, two assists).
NEXT
Central Michigan will hit the road for its first away game since March 2 when it goes to Furman (2-8) on April 13.
