CMU closes regular season on Thursday at home against Eastern Michigan

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Despite a near 3-to-1 edge in shots, the Central Michigan soccer team lost to Akron, 1-0, in a Mid-American Conference game on Sunday at the CMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex.

The loss puts CMU at 7-4-4, 4-4-2 MAC. Akron improved to 8-9-1, 5-4-1. CMU is seventh in the Mid-American Conference standings with 14 points.

CMU will finish the regular season at home with a MAC game against Eastern Michigan on Thursday, Oct. 31 (3 p.m.).

The MAC Tournament is scheduled to begin on Sunday, Nov. 3. The top eight teams in the league earn a berth in the tournament.

How It Happened
The game's lone goal was scored in the 17^th minute by Bailee Bowers.

The Chippewas finished with a 17-6 advantage in shots and had eight corner kicks to the Zips' three.

Maddie West lead CMU in shots with three.
