Megan Kern earns MAC honor for third consecutive week
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – A three-peat for Megan Kern.
Kern, the libero on the Central Michigan volleyball team, was named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the third-consecutive time on Monday.
Kern, a senior from La Grange, Ill., finished with 42 digs as the Chippewas collected MAC wins over Eastern Michigan and Kent State, improving to 4-0 in the league and 14-2 overall.
Against the Eagles, Kern had 16 digs and two aces and then posted a team-high 26 digs in the win over Kent State. Kern is averaging 5.19 digs per set, which ranks fourth in the MAC.
The Chippewas play host to Ball State on Friday, Oct. 11 (6 p.m.) and then entertain Toledo on Saturday, Oct. 12 (8 p.m.).
