Eleven Chippewas Earn Academic All-MAC In Football

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Eleven Central Michigan football players have earned Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors for the 2019 season.
The 11 Chippewas, along with their year, hometown, grade point average and major: Hunter Buczkowski, Mount Pleasant, junior, 3.24, physical education; Luke Goedeke, Whitelaw, Wis., sophomore, 3.66, mechanical engineering; Kaden Keon, St. Louis, senior, 3.41, mechanical engineering; Gage Kreski, St. Ignace, junior, 3.22, exercise science; Oakley Lavallii, Boca Raton, Fla., junior, 3.42, entrepreneurship; Mark Patritto, Rochester, sophomore, 3.35, business administration; Bernhard Raimann, Steinbrunn, Austria, sophomore, 3.84, actuarial science; Derek Smith, Grand Rapids, junior, 3.25, sociology; Robi Stuart, Saginaw, junior, 3.88, neuroscience; Ryan Tice, Saline, senior, 3.74, master of administration; Clay Walderzak, Standish, senior, 3.25, master of science.
It marks the third consecutive year that Keon, Lavallii, Smith and Walderzak have been so honored. Stuart was named to the squad in 2018.
To earn Academic All-MAC, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.2 or better grade point average and appeared in at least 50 percent of his team's games. Freshmen and first-year transfers are ineligible.
