Five Chippewas Earn Academic All-MAC

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Five Central Michigan volleyball players were named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference squad for the 2019 season.
The five Chippewas, along with their respective hometowns, year, grade point average, and major: Kendall Braate, Byron Center, sophomore, 3.79, biomedical sciences; Megan Kern, La Grange, Ill., senior, 3.97, biology/biomedical sciences; Megan Sivertsen, Virginia Beach, Va., sophomore, 3.25, dietetics; Savannah Thompson, Thornton, Ill., sophomore, 3.43, undecided; Ara Wilson, Davison, junior, 3.64, exercise science/kinesiology.
It marks the third consecutive year that Kern has been named to the team.
To qualify for the honor, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in 50 percent or more of her team's games.
