Chippewa Softball Falls To Boston College

CMU slated to play 2 on Sunday
MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. – Jenna Ergle's fifth-inning solo home run broke a 4-4 tie on Saturday as Boston College handed Central Michigan an 8-4 loss in the Madeira Beach Softball Tournament.
The loss left the Chippewas 6-7 on the season and 1-2 on their Spring Break trip. CMU is scheduled to play two games on Sunday, the first at 11:30 a.m. against Presbyterian, and the second at 2 p.m. against Penn State.
Shaidan Knapp and Morgan Gardner had two hits apiece to lead the Chippewas, who scored two runs in the second inning and two more in the third for a 4-3 lead.
Samantha Howell (2-1), the second of four CMU pitchers, took the loss. She allowed three runs on eight hits over three innings. She struck out three and walked one.
Cloe Mallory started for CMU. And surrendered three runs on seven hits. Shannon Stein and Kaitlyn Beach also pitched in relief for CMU.
The Eagles (4-9) outhit the Chippewas, 17-7.
