Nine Softball Players Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

Central Michigan Softball had five players earn repeat honors with four new honorees after the 2026 season.
CELEVELAND – Central Michigan Softball had nine players earn Academic All-MAC honors at the conclusion of the 2026 season.
To be eligible for the award, players must have competed in 50% of the teams' competitions and hold at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA.
Cairo, Compau, Koenig, Langan and Lotus were repeat honorees. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible for the nomination.
The honorees names, year, hometown, major and cumulative GPA are listed below:
Ashley Bila, sophomore, Laingsburg, Mic., Exercise Science: Kinesiology (Pre-PA), 4.0
Tori Briggs, sophomore, Fowlerville, Mich., Exercise Science: Kinesiology (Pre-PA), 3.92
Rachel Cairo, junior, Warren, Mich., Sport Management, 3.66
Brooklyn Compau, junior, Frankenmuth, Mich., Double Major: Special Education, Teaching Students with Cognitive Impairments and Teaching Grades 3-6, 3.71
Grace Koenig, junior, Imlay City, Mich., mechanical engineering, 3.74
Cierra Laska, senior, Byron Center, Mich., Double Major: Special Education, Teaching Students with Cognitive Impairments and Teaching Grades 3-6,, 3.91
Mackenzie Langan, senior, Greenville, Wis., Exercise Science: Kinesiology (Pre-PA), 3.35
Emma Lotus, junior, New Lenox, Ill., Teaching English Language Arts: Grades 5-12, 3.42
London Williams, sophomore, Biology: Biomed, Cellular & Molecular (Pre-Med), 3.66
As a team for the 2025-26 academic year, the Chippewas earned a team GPA of a 3.59 with a 3.64 GPA in the spring semester. Two student athletes, Ashley Bila and Keira Tolmie earned a 4.0 GPA through the spring semester. In the spring, 18 of the Chippewas' 19 student-athletes earned a 3.0 or higher GPA, 15 earned a 3.5 or higher.
