Perry, Moffo advance at NCAA East Preliminary

FridJACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Central Michigan's Janelle Perry and Shane Moffo will run for spots in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday.

Perry, a senior from Akron, Ohio, placed third in her heat in the women's 100-meter hurdles on Friday at the NCAA East Preliminary at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium. Perry, who finished in 13.36 seconds, will run on Saturday night eyeing a top-12 finish and a berth in the NCAA Championships at the University of Texas on June 5-8.

Moffo, a senior from Farmington Hills, advanced to Saturday's final in the men's 110 hurdles as he finished in 13.95 seconds in his heat. He, like Perry, will be eyeing a top-12 finish on Saturday in order to earn a berth to the NCAA Championships.

Also for CMU on Friday, Erin Howard placed 31^st in the women's discus with a throw of 159 feet, 4 inches; Siobhan Szerencsits placed 26^th in the women's pole vault at 12-10 ¼; and Gabriella Beauvais finished in 53.19 seconds in the women's 400-meter dash quarterfinal and failed to qualify for Saturday's final.
