Soccer Heads To Northwestern

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- The Central Michigan soccer team will travel to Evanston, Ill. on Thursday to take on Northwestern in a nonconference game set to kick off at 8 p.m.

WHERE THEY STAND
CMU is 0-0-1 after tying its first game, 0-0, with Illinois-Chicago a week ago. It was the first game for CMU under first-year coach Jeremy Groves.

Northwestern, which plays in the Big is 0-2 after a 1-0 loss to SMU and a 4-0 loss to Notre Dame last week.

TEAM LEADERS
Katie Coleman leads the Chippewas in shots, with five, and in shots on goal, with three.

Kayleigh Stahlschmidt leads Northwestern with four shots.

IN GOAL
CMU's Zoe Reed recorded 10 saves in the tie with UIC last week. It was her 11th career shutout.

In nearly 170 minutes in goal, Northwestern's Mackenzie Wood has made two saves, allowed five goals, and has a goals against average of 2.66.

NEXT
CMU will be at home for a pair of nonconference games next weekend. The Chippewas will take on Indiana State on Friday, Sep 6. (7 p.m.), and then entertain IUPUI on Sunday, Sept. (1 p.m.).
