Sean Murphy-Bunting of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made four tackles and was credited with a quarterback hurry on Sunday to the highlight the performance of former Central Michigan players during week 6 of the NFL season.
Â
Murphy-Bunting was part of a defense that recorded two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown, in the Buccaneers' 38-10 home victory over the Green Bay Packers.
Â
Other Chippewas:
Â
• Eric Fisher started at left tackle on Monday in the Kansas City Chiefs' 26-17 victory at Buffalo. It was the 108th career game and 104th career start for Fisher, who is in his eighth year in the league.
Â
• Three former CMU standouts, tight end Tyler Conklin (Minnesota Vikings), Jonathan Ward (Arizona Cardinals) and Kavon Frazier (Miami Dolphins), appeared in week-6 games, but not record any statistics.
Â
Ward and the Cardinals won at Dallas on Monday night, 38-10; Frazier and the Dolphins posted a 24-0 shutout of the New York Jets on Sunday in Miami; and Conklin's Vikings lost to the Atlanta Falcons, 40-23, in Minneapolis on Sunday.
Â
• Two other former Chippewas, fullback Nick Bellore and safety Jaleel Addae, did not play over the weekend because their respective teams had a bye.
Â
Bellore is in his 10th year in the league and second with the Seattle Seahawks; Addae is in his eighth year in the NFL and in his first season of his second stint with the Los Angeles/San Diego Chargers. Addae spent his first six NFL seasons with the Chargers and last year played with the Houston Texans.
• Three other former Chippewas remain on the practice squad of NFL teams. Quarterback Cooper Rush is with the New York Giants; defensive lineman Joe Ostman with the Philadelphia Eagles; and cornerback Xavier Crawford is with the Chicago Bears.
