MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan senior Nadia Williams has been named the Mid-American Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Chippewas' annual Jack Skoog Open.
Williams, who hails from Mount Horeb, Wis., won the women's long jump with a leap of 21 feet, which was nearly 3 feet longer than that of the runner-up.
Williams, who was an All-American long jumper both indoors and outdoors in 2018-19, broke her own program record with a leap of 21 feet, 1 ¼ inches earlier this season in a meet at Grand Valley State.
That leap is the best among MAC jumpers and the fourth best among all NCAA Division I jumpers this season.
