CMU Third At Indoor-Season Opening Grand Valley Holiday Open

ALLENDALE, Mich. – Central Michigan posted 12 top-eight finishes on Friday as it opened the indoor track & field season with a third-place finish in the 18-team Grand Valley State Holiday Open at the Kelly Family Sports Center.
The Chippewas collected 52.5 points. Eastern Michigan (140.7) was first followed by the host Lakers (61).
The Chippewas got a second-place finish from Alexa Davis in the mile, while CMU's Lauren Lasceski was fourth. Davis finished in 5:10.12; Lasceski in 5:13.73.
CMU's Olivia Hankey, Taylor Korytkowski, Jericha Petrella and Peyton Korytkowski teamed up to finish third in the 4x400-meter relay (3:53.74), and CMU's Tricia Pierce tied for third in the pole vault at 3.60 meters.
Petrella also placed fourth in the 400-meter dash with a 58.02-second clocking, while Hankey was eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.15).
CMU had three placers in the long jump. Sarah Daniel was third at 5.59 meters, Camiyah James was fourth at 5.44, and Jaci Rife placed sixth at 5.37.
The Chippewas' Reghan Draper placed fourth in the 60-meter dash (7.61 seconds) and finished eighth in the 200-meter dash (25.59).
CMU's Lindsey Clarke placed seventh in the triple jump at 10.3 meters.
The Chippewas are scheduled to compete on Jan. 8 at the Michigan Wolverine Invitational.
