MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Central Michigan lacrosse head coach Sara Tisdale has named Elisabeth Blackwell to her staff as an assistant coach.
"From her time as a player at Stetson, to her most recent coaching position at Oregon, Elisabeth brings a wealth of experience with her to CMU," said Tisdale. "Throughout the interview process, it became very clear that Elisabeth's priorities align with our programs and she will be a strong leader for our student-athletes and the CMU community."
With the Ducks since January, 2020, Blackwell oversaw the coaching and training of the goalkeepers.
Prior to Oregon, Blackwell served as an assistant coach at Fresno State, where she acted as defensive coordinator in addition to playing a key role in student-athlete academic planning and progress, recruiting, scouting and travel management.
From August 2016 through May 2018, Blackwell was an assistant at Gardner-Webb. With the Bulldogs, she coordinated the team's offense and draw as well as heading up recruiting efforts, community relations and academic mentoring.
Blackwell began her coaching career as a volunteer assistant at the University of Louisville.
Blackwell was a three-year starter at defender for the Hatters. A co-captain in her senior season, she helped anchor the best defense, statistically, in program history.
Blackwell holds a bachelor of science degree in biology from Stetson and is pursuing a master's degree in psychology.
