WBB Falls At Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green used a 19-5 third-quarter run on Wednesday in handing Central Michigan a 92-68 Mid-American Conference women's basketball loss at the Stroh Center.
The Chippewas are 3-12, 1-6 MAC. The Falcons are 7-6, 2-2.
CMU is slated to play at Ball State on Saturday, Jan. 22 (1 p.m.) The Cardinals are 9-7, 2-4 after falling, 55-52, to MAC-leading Toledo on Wednesday.
BGSU made 45.9 percent of its field goal attempts and held the Chippewas to a 31.8-percent clip. Playing without leading rebounder Jahari Smith, CMU finished in a 53-32 rebounding deficit and was outscored in the paint, 40-20.
The Chippewas trailed, 49-36, at halftime but then drew to within eight, 58-50, with just over six minutes remaining in the third quarter. Bowling Green scored eight consecutive points to extend their lead to 16, 66-50, and eventually expanded its advantage to 22, 77-55, with under two minutes to play in the third.
CMU never got closer than 19 points the rest of the way. The Chippewas made nine of their 30 3-point attempts on the night, but were just three for 17 from long range in the final 20 minutes.
Molly Davis scored 29 points and made eight of 15 tries from the floor; three of her buckets came from beyond the arc. She hit 10 of 13 free throws and grabbed six rebounds.
CMU freshman guards Karrington Gordon and Hanna Knoll both logged significant minutes and Gordon finished with a career high 11 points, nine of which came on three 3-pointers. Knoll also had three triples.
