Diebold Named MAC Lacrosse Player Of The Week For 3rd Time This Season

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Central Michigan's Maggie Diebold was named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week for lacrosse after scoring a career-high seven goals in leading the Chippewas to a 20-11 victory at Youngstown State.

Diebold, who leads the league and is tied for 19^th nationally with 40 goals, scored three times during a 6-0 run as the Chippewas overcame an 8-5 deficit in seizing an 11-8 lead against the Penfuins. Diebold scored five of her goals in the second half, during which CMU outscored the Penguins, 12-3, to win going away.

It marks the second consecutive week and the third time this season that Diebold, a senior from Howell, N.J., has earned the MAC Offensive Player of the Week Award.

The Chippewas, 6-6, 4-1 MAC, entertain Detroit Mercy in a league game on Saturday (1 p.m.) at the CMU Lacrosse Complex.
