Reggie Bass Earns MAC Player of the Week Honors

Bass leads CMU to a 63-61 win at Michigan after scoring 16 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and hitting the game-winning 3-pointer with 11.6 seconds to play.
CLEVELAND, Ohio—Central Michigan freshman guard Reggie Bass was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week following CMU's 63-61 win at Michigan, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Trailing 61-60, Bass converted a game-winning 3-pointer from the right side of the floor to give Central Michigan a 63-61 lead with 11.6 seconds to play. CMU forced Michigan to miss two shots in the closing seconds to register its first win at Michigan since the 2007 season. In 39 minutes of action, Bass scored 16 points on 5-15 shooting, hit 4-11 3-point field goals, grabbed seven rebounds, and registered a steal.
On the year, Bass is averaging 10.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. While starting 12 of 13 games played, he is shooting 33.1 percent (40-121) from the floor, 32.4 percent (24-74) from 3-point range, and 83.3 percent (35-42) at the free throw line. He leads the team in steals (17) and is tied for the team lead in assists (32). Bass has also assumed point guard duties in absence of preseason All-MAC player Kevin Miller.
Central Michigan (5-8, 0-0 MAC) opens MAC play Tuesday evening when it hosts Miami, Ohio (6-7, 0-0 MAC) at McGuirk Arena.
