Pre-Game to feature Dan Majerle Meet & Greet Autograph Session; Toilet Paper Toss will occur before the game at 6:47 p.m.; Other last-minute reminders and announcements for Saturday’s Toilet Paper Toss Game!
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the first Toilet Paper Toss in school history, Central Michigan Athletics is bringing back this tradition when it hosts rival Western Michigan in men's basketball on Saturday evening at McGuirk Arena.
Fans are urged to arrive at McGuirk Arena as early as possible as the Toilet Paper Toss will occur BEFORE THE GAME at approximately 6:47 p.m. ET. The National Anthem will be played at 6:40 p.m. followed by introductions of the Central Michigan men's basketball team. Honorary captain, CMU Athletics Hall of Famer, Olympian and former 14-year NBA veteran Dan Majerle will then be introduced to the crowd. Majerle will hit a layup and the arena will simultaneously throw toilet paper on the floor. The moment will be a reenactment of past toilet paper tosses.
Parking lots open at 4 p.m. A limited number of advance parking remains $10 at www.cmuchippewas.com or by calling the Central Michigan Ticket Office at (989) 774-3045.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Upon entry, all fans will be provided with a roll of toilet paper and are encouraged to participate. With the game being designated as a White-Out, fans are encouraged to wear white shirts. White pompoms will be distributed to the first 2,500 fans in the arena and the first 250 students will receive a free Snake Pit T shirt. In addition, the first 200 students will receive a free halftime meal, courtesy of Qdoba Mexican Grill.
Fans will have the opportunity to meet and greet Majerle at an autograph session between 5:45-6:15 p.m. This will take place at the Southwest corner of the arena in front of the trophy case. In addition, CMU's men's basketball alumni will host a get-together at the McGuirk Arena Upper Mezzanine beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Tipoff for the game is set for 7:02 p.m. ET.
A limited number of tickets still remain for the game. Lower reserved tickets are $20, upper reserved are $17, and general admission tickets start at $9. For this game, fans will receive 40 percent off on general admission tickets. Adult general admission seating is priced $9 (regularly $15), youth/senior general admission is $7 (regularly $12), and group general admission (10 or more tickets) is $3 per person (regularly $5).
