Goalkeeper Owens named MAC Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week after 12-save perfrmance vs. California in season opener.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Erin Owens was named Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week after a season-opening 15-12 victory over the California Golden Bears.
Owens held strong at the defensive end for the Chippewas as she recorded 12 saves. The senior goalie played in all 60 minutes and had six saves in both the second and fourth quarters.
On the year, Owens has 16 saves in two games and 79 minutes played. Central Michigan opened its season with a 1-1 record.
