Paupore Recognized as All-MAC Second Team

CLEVELAND — For the third time in her collegiate career, Emily Paupore earned postseason recognition from the Mid-American Conference in its all-conference release Wednesday morning.

Paupore received second-team status from the league as she collected a silver medal in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at last week's MAC Outdoor Championships in Akron, Ohio.

Wednesday's announcement marks the first time in Paupore's career that she has earned all-conference recognition on the track, though she returns to leaguewide acclaim after back-to-back All-MAC performances in the 2020 and 2021 Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championships.

Paupore is in line for an appearance in next week's NCAA East Preliminaries in the steeplechase as her time of 10:25.73 from the Grand Valley State University Extra Weekend Meet (April 29) remains as the 41^st mark in the region. The region's qualifying event for the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be hosted by the University of North Florida May 24-27, with the steeplechase scheduled for 5:40 p.m. on Saturday, May 27.
