The 2023 outdoor track & field season comes to a close for the Chippewas in the NCAA Championship qualifiers

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The 2023 outdoor track & field season came to a close for the Chippewas on Saturday following the conclusion of the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA I East Championship Preliminaries at the University of North Florida.

Emily Paupore and Anya Turner battled the region's best in their signature event to finishes of 34^th and 43^rd at UNF's Hodges Stadium, in respective times of 10:37.96 and 10:59.95.

Both of Central Michigan's representatives in Saturday's competition finish the 2023 campaign ranked among the top ten in program history in the event. Paupore's 10:25.73 from Grand Valley State University's Extra-Weekend Meet (April 29) stands second on the all-time list; Turner's 10:32.02 MAC Championship attempt (May 12) lands fifth in the CMU record book.

Saturday's competition at the NCAA regional meet concludes the 2023 season for the Chippewas.
