The reigning MAC Champion brings in an offensive specialist with nearly a decade of experience
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan Lacrosse hired Daniel Moriarty as its assistant coach for the 2024 campaign, announced by Head Coach Emilia Ward Monday.
With nearly a decade of experience across multiple levels, the former Marian University (WI) head men's coach brings a focus on the attack. Last season in his first at the helm for the NCAA III Sabres, Moriarty logged a four-game improvement for the program through a 9-7 record.
Prior to Marian, Moriarty was the head coach of the University of Southern California Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) program, logging the program's first two victories over nationally ranked programs and first all-American.
Moriarty has made three stops across NCAA II and NCAA III as an assistant, coordinating the offense for all three. A two-year stint at NCAA III Western Connecticut State University, between Marian and USC, produced a national top-15 offense, three players over 80 points in a season and a conference championship appearance. NCAA III Southwestern University (TX) also profited from Moriarty's offense as a national top-10 squad in assists in 2017.
A native of Rockville Centre, N.Y., Moriarty graduated from NCAA II Adelphi University (NY) in 2014 after a two-year tenure in the midfield with the Panthers. His collegiate career began at two-year Herkimer College (NY), where he earned first-team all-region distinction.
