Joslin arrives in Mount Pleasant after earning national and conference honors as a member of the Michigan State men's club volleyball team.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Central Michigan head volleyball coach Mike Gawlik announced the addition of Clark Joslin as the program's new assistant coach Friday morning.
"Clark's energy and charisma were apparent from our very first conversation," said Gawlik, who enters his seventh year as CMU's head volleyball coach. "He is eager, motivated, and a quick learner. We look to build on his few years of experience of being in Michigan State's training environment daily as we integrate him into our staff. As an elite men's player, Clark can elevate our practice environment and push our student-athletes to improve. I know how excited he is to get started and we look forward to welcoming him to Mount Pleasant."
Joslin arrives in Mount Pleasant just months after graduating from Michigan State University in the spring of 2023 with a dual degree in film studies and Spanish. In his time at MSU, Joslin was a four-year member of the men's club volleyball team, serving as the president for the 2021-22 season. During the same season, he was awarded the first of two all-conference honors by the Big Ten Men's Volleyball Association (BTMVA) and an honorable mention on the All-National College Volleyball Federation (NCVF) list. As a senior, Joslin was a second-team All-NCVF honoree.
Also during his time at MSU, Joslin served as a practice player for the Spartan's women's program during the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
"I am extremely excited and humbled to be joining the Chippewa volleyball family." Joslin said. "Everything about this move seemed right to me: the right people, the right place, and the right time. I am thankful to Coach Mike Gawlik and Stef Jankiewicz for their belief in me. I intend to do everything in my power to meet the standards set by Coach Gawlik and by those before me. I could not be happier to be joining this hardworking, intelligent, and talented team!"
Central Michigan Volleyball will kick off its season with an exhibition match on Mackinac Island, scheduled for August 19. The Chippewas will begin regular season play on August 25 as they head to SEMO for an invitational.Â
